The set brings 3D printed landing gear wheels for the Su-15 in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. It is not a model of the aircraft but a replacement for the parts from the kit: the printed wheel carries a crisper tread pattern, finer relief on the hub and a cleaner shape of the axle boss than an injection mold can give. For the sets of this range the manufacturer gives the nose wheel and the braked main wheels.
The Su-15 is a Soviet twin-engine interceptor of the 1960s with a delta wing and side air intakes. Its task was to climb quickly and reach far out against penetrating bombers, so it had large reserves of performance and a fairly high landing speed. The high weight and the quick touchdown placed considerable demands on the wheels and the tires of the main landing gear.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Paint the wheel in stages: the hub first, then mask it and finish the tire. Dust pigment holds in the tread pattern on its own.
The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
