A resin set of landing gear wheels for a model of the Su-57 fighter in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. Printing in resin brings out the tread pattern and the shape of the rim without the mold seam that a plastic wheel always has down the middle. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts for your own model.
The Su-57 is a new generation Russian fighter with internal weapons bays and with shaping of the airframe meant to reduce its radar return. Its landing gear retracts into bays in the fuselage and the nose leg carries a pair of wheels. A model is usually built on the flight line with the gear extended, so a viewer looks the wheels over close up and the mold seam on a plastic part is noticeable there at once.
Cut the supports off with a scalpel and level the mating pad, so that a wheel sits square to the leg. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the tire a very dark gray and the rim separately after the real subject, and use a round mask on the transition. A faint layer of dust on the lower part of the tread will lend a wheel weight.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
