A metallic blue acrylic paint by Vallejo from the Mecha Color line. Applied with a brush, and once thinned with an airbrush as well.
Responsibility details are not available.
A water-based acrylic paint from the Mecha Color line, that is from the line Vallejo put together for models of robots, science-fiction equipment and modern machines. The Metallic Blue shade is a metallic blue: it contains fine metal particles, so the surface reflects light and changes tone with the angle of view. Compare the exact shade against the manufacturer's color chart, because metallic paints look different on paper and on a model.
The metal particles are heavier than the binder and sink to the bottom of the bottle. Before every use, therefore, shake the paint thoroughly, ideally for several tens of seconds, and repeat the shaking during the work. A metallic shade needs a smooth ground: on a rough or insufficiently sanded surface the particles settle unevenly and the sheen stays dull and blotchy.
Apply it in thin coats and let each one dry, as a heavy coat dries unevenly and the marks of the brush stay visible. For an airbrush, thin the paint gradually, in small amounts, and set a lower pressure so that the particles do not spray out into a grainy surface. Rinse the brush out straight after work, as dried acrylic paint is hard to remove from the bristles.
For builders of models of robots, science-fiction machines and ordinary equipment who are looking for a blue metal surface. The model, brushes and thinner are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
