A resin set of landing gear legs for a model of the upgraded MiG-29 SMT in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. For the sets in this series the manufacturer states printing from a strong polymer reinforced with steel pins, and the extended position with the lines, the landing lights and a fender picked out. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts for your own model.
The MiG-29 SMT is an upgraded version with a large dorsal tank behind the cockpit, which gave the machine range but also takeoff weight. The landing gear was therefore given a more durable design and the legs from the basic version do not fit it exactly. For a modeler that is a reason to reach for parts intended expressly for this version, especially as a model in 1:48 scale is fairly heavy.
Release the parts from the supports with a scalpel and level the mating faces. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the legs before fitting and bring the lines out with a dark tone. A faint oil weep around the shock strut and dust on the lower parts will lend a leg credibility.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
