A thin, fast-drying cement for polystyrene with a brush in the cap. It wicks into a closed seam and welds the parts into one piece. A 40 ml bottle.
Responsibility details are not available.
Among liquid cements for plastic models this is the thin and fast one. It does not work like a conventional glue that leaves a layer between the parts. The solvent in it attacks the surface of the polystyrene, both mating faces soften and, when pressed together, they flow into each other. Once the solvent has evaporated a single piece of material is left with no visible seam, and it sands just like the plastic around it.
From that follows a way of working that differs fundamentally from a tube. Dry-fit the parts first and align them precisely, and only then touch the edge of the seam with the brush. The liquid draws itself along the whole length of the joint by capillary action. Applying it to an open surface in advance is pointless and only leads to dissolved plastic running out and damaging the engraving.
The brush is part of the cap, so the bottle is ready for immediate use. Forty milliliters last for a great deal of building, because the amount used on one joint is tiny.
Where the cement will not help: it works on polystyrene, not on resin, photo-etched parts or white metal. Be especially careful with clear parts, since solvent vapors can fog a canopy even without direct contact, which is why glazing is fixed with other products. Work in a room that can be ventilated.
The dissolved material can also be put to deliberate use. When a small bead of softened plastic is squeezed out of the edge of a joint, wait for it to cure and sand it down: the seam disappears completely and no filling is needed. The same method closes a hairline gap between poorly fitting fuselage halves.
