A transparent gold from the Mr. Clear Color GX range. It is applied over a glossy base, to which it gives a gold tone, and it also suits tinting clear parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
Mr. Clear Color GX is a transparent range, meaning shades that do not cover a base but tint it. A gold tone therefore never arises on its own but only in combination with what lies beneath it: over a polished silver base it gives a warm gold, over a darker metallic shade more of a brass or an old bronze patina. That is exactly the strength of a transparent paint — you control the intensity by the number of coats applied, not by mixing a shade in a cup.
Modelers use transparent shades on metal surfaces, exhausts, cockpit accessories and etched parts, on tinting clear parts such as light covers, and on so-called candy finishes for car bodies and helmets, where a saturated coat is applied over a metallic base. It also suits fine-tuning a finished metallic effect that just needs shifting toward a warmer tone.
The base must be smooth and glossy, or the transparent coat will look matte and uneven. Apply thin coats and check the shade on a test piece, since the paint looks more saturated once dry than while spraying. Choose the thinner and mixing ratio per the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, meaning the thinner made for this range. Ventilate while working and protect your airways. Mix the bottle well before use.
The paint alone is supplied. Thinner, brushes and a model are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The manufacturer's description states the package volume.
