A kit of the command ship New Godphenix, which appeared in the Japanese animated series Gatchaman II from the late 1970s. The plastic is molded in the colors of the original, so the model makes sense even without spraying, and the individual parts fit into each other.
New Godphenix follows on from the older ship from the first series. It serves the five heroes as a mother ship: it carries their individual machines, launches them in flight and can attack on its own. Characteristic of it are the sharp wedge-shaped hull with spread wings and the so-called fire mode, in which the whole ship turns into a blazing bird. The design was created at a time when Japanese animated science fiction was only discovering combinable machines, and to this day it belongs among the recognition marks of the whole series.
Even a less experienced builder will manage the assembly, because the joints hold by their shape. Anyone who wants to take the result further can fill the seams, spray the whole thing and pick out the engraved lines with a fine wash. Leave the clear parts until the end and protect them from sanding and from fingerprints.
A lighting module and a stand for display are included in the package as well. Paints and glue are not enclosed.
