A paint set from the IONIC range listed under the Real Heavy Metal theme. The designation Olive Gold names the color theme: gold shifted toward olive, that is a subdued warm metal with no sharp yellow. The shades of the set are chosen so that they can be used side by side from shadow to the lightest accent.
A subdued gold suits older, used metal parts, ironwork, buckles, pommels and the ornamental bands of armor. Because it is not loud, it sits well with the brown and green palette of uniforms, bags and straps and does not look out of place on a figure.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before work, as the pigment of metallic shades settles. Apply thin coats and let them dry out, otherwise the paint clogs the fine relief. Choose the thinner intended for this range, and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. It pays to unify the surface in advance with a base coat, as metallic shades will not cover a surface showing through. A dry brush works on small edges: a thin coat of a lighter tone picks them out. A coat of varnish protects the dried work.
