The set brings 3D printed figures of Russian Air Force pilots in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. For this one the manufacturer gives five figures of flight personnel with the harness unfastened, that is at the moment when the crew is getting ready for a flight or returning from one. It is not a model of an aircraft but figures for building a scene around it.
The equipment of a present-day Russian fighter pilot consists of a flight suit, an anti-g garment, the parachute harness and a protective helmet with an oxygen mask. An unfastened harness is a common sight in photographs from airfields: the pilot has the straps slackened or thrown over his shoulder, carries the helmet in his hand and has the oxygen mask hanging loose by his cheek. For a modeler it is a rewarding pose, because it shows the equipment from more sides than a figure drawn up to attention does, and at the same time it gives a diorama a calm, everyday tone.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Paint the figures in layers from the base tone toward the light edges, and leave the face and the hands for last.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model aircraft are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
