An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous luxury train the Orient Express from the Revell Classics range in 1:87 (H0) scale. The set contains a steam locomotive with a tender and passenger coaches, so you build a complete train formation. It is a larger and more demanding set, and the finished formation is pleasingly long and impressive.
The Orient Express was a famous luxury express train that from the end of the 19th century linked western Europe with Istanbul and became a symbol of the traveling luxury of the Belle Epoque. It made its name with elegant sleeping and dining cars and with a legend in literature and film. The subject of the locomotive is a classic European steam engine of its era with a tender.
Work from the body of the locomotive and the individual coaches to the running gear and the bogies. The detailed interior of the coaches shows to advantage if you paint it before you close the carbodies. The model is in H0 scale, so it can be displayed together with railroad models of the same scale. Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic, and pick out the metallic shades of the locomotive with a dry brush and light weathering for a realistic impression.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
