Replacement front axle wheels for the Sd.Kfz. 251 in 1:72 scale with the Continental Extra Gelände off-road tread, listed as type 2.
Responsibility details are not available.
The German Sd.Kfz. 251 half-track transporter stood on a pair of steered wheels at the front and on a tracked bogie at the rear. Several German makers supplied tires for it, and Continental was one of them. Its off-road tread carried the name Extra Gelände and differed from the smoother road patterns in a coarser design meant to hold in a muddy road.
Front axle wheels in 1:72 scale with one tread pattern, Continental Extra Gelände. The manufacturer lists the set as type 2 of the range of patterns for this vehicle. If you are building several of these transporters side by side, each can be given a different pattern and the column then does not look like a row of identical copies.
The parts are not polystyrene and plastic cement does not work on them; use cyanoacrylate glue and degrease the mating surfaces first. Spray the primer thinly, so that the tread pattern stays legible. Separate the rim and the tire by shade; at such a small scale a dark gray helps more than pure black. Apply deposits sparingly and mainly around the circumference, where the wheel touches the ground.
For builders of German equipment in 1:72 scale who want a specific period tire on the model and not a generic wheel from the kit. The package does not contain the model, paints or glue, unless stated otherwise.
