The pens in this set serve to suggest shadows, rubbing and soiling on a finished model. You apply the paint straight from the tip, so thinning, mixing and an airbrush all fall away and you can stop work at any time and come back to it. The figure in the name tells the individual sets within the line apart.
Work only on a fully cured, clean and degreased surface. Guide the stroke into hollows, into grooves and up to the edges of parts, that is where shadow and dirt would collect on a real machine too. The strength of the effect is set by how much of the stroke you leave on the model and how much you take off again; the recommended procedure for blending the applied paint is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Before you set to a visible area, try the pen on an offcut or in a hidden place, especially if you will overspray the model with varnish later. Work in good light; in shade the contrast is easily overdone.
It will be appreciated by modelers who want to bring the surface of a model to life without spraying equipment, and by more experienced builders as a supplement to paints and wash techniques. The model, the paints and the varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
