The set holds two resin figures of Russian Aerospace Forces ground crew in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for a finished model. A pair of figures is enough to stop a parking apron from looking empty, and it can be filled out with further sets from the same line.

The real subject

Work on an aircraft is seldom done alone: one technician holds while the other turns the wrench, one calls out a reading while the other watches the instrument. A pair of figures therefore looks more natural than a single one and gives the scene a relationship between people. Working clothing is simpler and less bulky than a flight suit. At the same time the figures give the model a yardstick for comparison, which turns a photograph of finished work into a believable scene.

Building and painting tips

Wash the 3D-printed figures in warm soapy water and cut the print supports away with a sharp blade, carefully around the fingers and the gear. Sand them with respiratory protection and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a thin primer as the base, paint the faces and hands with a brush and lighten the shades step by step, and finish the clothing with a dark wash in the folds. Add gloss varnish to the helmet and the visor.
