The set holds resin figures of Russian Aerospace Forces ground crew in 1:48 scale. The manufacturer keeps it as the first set of a numbered line of figures. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for a finished model or for an airfield scene, to which it gives a story.
The ground crew makes up most of the people who move around a machine in a flying unit. Work on an aircraft means bending down to the landing gear, reaching up to the panels, carrying tools and operating ground equipment, so the poses of the figures are more varied than those of standing aircrew. Working clothing is simpler and less bulky than a flight suit. Ground crew figures therefore give a scene the movement that a model on its own would never have.
Wash the 3D-printed figures in warm soapy water and cut the print supports away with a sharp blade, carefully around the fingers and the gear. Sand them with respiratory protection and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a thin primer as the base, paint the faces and hands with a brush and lighten the shades step by step, and finish the clothing with a dark wash in the folds. Add gloss varnish to the helmet and the visor.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
