A set of ATOM acrylic paints from AMMO for the aircraft of the Nationalist side of the Spanish Civil War. Water-based paints for brush and airbrush.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spanish Civil War ran from 1936 to 1939 and became a testing ground for the air forces that intervened in it from outside. The Nationalist side flew largely on machines supplied from Germany and from Italy, and foreign volunteer formations served on its side as well. Among its easily recognized features was the white vertical tail surface with a black diagonal cross.
Water-based acrylic paints of the ATOM line, selected for this subject. They are thinned with water or an acrylic thinner, they mix with each other and they are applied with a brush as well as with an airbrush. Which shade belongs on a particular machine is settled by the color scheme in the instructions of the kit.
Aircraft of the end of the 1930s tended to be largely fabric-covered or of mixed construction, which shows on a model only in the surface. Apply several thin layers, so that the structure of the ribs stays visible. Stir the paint before work and thin it gradually, as thick acrylic dries in the nozzle. Spray the white areas of the tail onto a unified base; on dark plastic they otherwise need too many layers. Before the decals, let the surface be brought to a gloss, as a haze forms under the carrier film on a flat surface.
For the modeler who builds the aircraft of this conflict and wants the shades of one subject together. The package holds the paints only; a model, decals, masks, thinner and brushes are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
