A base with airfield slabs in 1:32 scale is a 3D printed accessory from Temp Models. It is not a model of an aircraft but a surface to go under a finished model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings a 3D printed base with the relief of airfield slabs in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. It is not a model of an aircraft, nor a part of one, but the surface on which you stand a finished model. A slab surface gives a model a firm foundation and at the same time suggests a setting without your having to build a whole diorama.
Slab surfaces came about out of practical need: a concrete runway takes a long time to build, whereas prefabricated slabs can be laid quickly and, should they be damaged, replaced. That is why they were counted on at field and reserve airfields throughout the Cold War. Characteristic of them are the regular gaps between the slabs, the rounded corners and the unevenness where the surface settled onto the subsoil unequally.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Ground equipment is brought to life by a dark wash run into the recesses and by drybrushing on the edges.
The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
