The technical maintenance ladder for the MiG-29 in 1:72 is a printed ground crew accessory for dioramas. It is not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A piece of ground equipment in 1:72 scale from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models, printed from photopolymer. The manufacturer intends it for work during the ground servicing of aircraft and for the crew getting in and out, and expressly recommends it for building dioramas on an aviation theme. Unlike an ordinary boarding ladder, this is a technical stand for maintenance.
A technical ladder is taller and sturdier than a plain boarding step stand, because technicians climb it to reach the engines, the avionics in the fuselage bays and the upper surface of the airframe. On the MiG-29 the work stations are spread along the whole length of the aircraft, from the nose with the radar to the engine nacelles, so such a stand is moved around the apron according to whatever work is in hand.
The parts are printed from photopolymer and are held on thin print supports. Cut them away with a sharp scalpel and sand the pad. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. Once a filler primer is laid down, a dark wash into the recesses of the structure and fine chipping on the edges of the steps will stand out. Hold the small parts with tweezers and work over a mat with a raised edge. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
