US Earth Brown

Vallejo Model Air US Earth Brown

An opaque water-based acrylic paint from the Model Air range. The shade is a deep earthy brown and belongs to the group of tones for American ground equipment. The paint dries to a matte finish without sheen, which makes it a good base for multi-color schemes applied over masks.

Masking and sharp transitions

• A matte acrylic film is more demanding for masking tape than a glossy one, because the tape bites into its texture. Pull the tape off your clothing before applying it, so that it loses some of its tack.
• For sharp camouflage edges use thin modeling tape and press the edge down carefully, otherwise the paint will run under it.
• For soft transitions, modeling clay, string or a mask held above the surface works better than tape.
• Pull the tape off slowly and at a sharp angle to the surface, not straight up.
• If some of the paint does lift off, make the repair with a brush using paint thinned for several thin coats, not in one heavy stroke.

Who the paint is for

The paint will be appreciated by modelers of ground equipment who spray multi-color camouflage over masks and need a reliable opaque base. An earthy brown also suits dioramas and a terrain base. The thin consistency is made for an airbrush; it can be used with a brush only in the knowledge that coverage is built up in several coats.

A water-based acrylic paint. Ventilate and protect your airways when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children, protect from frost and close the bottle after use.
