The set brings 3D printed figures of pilots in the VMSK aviation suit in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. For this one the manufacturer gives five finely worked figures in flight clothing of the VMSK-4 type, modeled on real photographs. It is not a model of an aircraft but the crew for one.
The VMSK suit is intended for flights over large stretches of water, where the equipment has to provide not only the usual protection but also the survival of the crew in cold water. Against an ordinary flight suit it is bulkier, has sealed cuffs and collar and is complemented by a life vest. A figure in such a suit looks stockier and markedly different from a pilot in a summer coverall, which is clearly apparent on figures in a large scale.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Paint the figures in layers from the base tone toward the light edges, and leave the face and the hands for last.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model aircraft are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
