Seventeen tall grass tufts in a fall mix of rust, ocher and fading green, the fiber measures twelve millimeters.
Responsibility details are not available.
The fall version mixes rust, ocher and the remains of green within one tuft. It is precisely that lack of uniformity that does the work for you on a model, because a real meadow at the close of the year never has a single tone: part of the stalks has dried up, part is still holding on and the soil shows through between them.
The fiber is twelve millimeters tall, which is the highest step this group offers, and there are seventeen pieces in the bag. A taller fiber behaves differently from a low one. It leans to one side, can be bent with your fingers and held in a direction, so that a few pieces set the same way create the impression of a windswept plain.
When gluing, reckon with the fact that a tall fiber is a lever. As long as the glue is not setting, a tuft likes to tilt, so hold it for a while after pressing it down or prop it with a piece of plywood. Seventeen pieces sounds like little, but at this height they cover a solid strip, because one tuft takes up more room than three low ones.
The shade goes with brown leaves, with dried up reeds and with dark topsoil. If you are building a scene from late fall, leave bare places between the tufts and fill them in with fine grit. A continuous carpet of tall grass comes across as artificial, whereas islands among trodden ground look the way things really go in nature.
