Aber Engrave plate (88 x 57 mm) – pattern 11 is a brass embossing plate for creating textured surfaces. You transfer the pattern into plastic and metal foil alike and make a part exactly to measure.
Responsibility details are not available.
A brass plate with etched pattern number 11 from the Polish firm Aber. It serves as a die on which you make textured sheet in whatever shape and quantity you need. The working area of the plate is 88 x 57 mm without the frame. The maker ranks it among the meshes and embossing plates, that is among the workshop aids and not among the kits.
Soft metal foils are a rewarding material for this technique. They take the pattern readily, stay stable in shape after the impression and will take forming over a round bar or an edge. Free the foil of grease before the work, as fingerprints will show up later under the paint. Cut with a sharp scalpel along a metal ruler, not with scissors. If you need the texture only shallow, lower the pressure and rather impress twice than once too hard. Lead foil can moreover be shaped easily over an edge after the impression, so you can make curved covers from it too.
For modelers who enjoy working with metal, for diorama builders and for anyone who wants to replace simplified plastic parts with their own thinner and truer ones. Working with foil moreover calls for no expensive equipment; ordinary modeling tools will see you through.
This is a modeling tool, not a kit. Metal and plastic foil are not included in the package.
