U-STAR Etch Slide Change Parts 1 photo-etched detail parts

The package contains a thin metal fret with small technical parts created by photo-etching. The parts are held in the fret on fine bridges and are cut out of it only at the moment you want to use them. This is not a kit but an accessory for a model you are already building or have finished. Number one is the first variant of the universal range; the other numbers carry different shapes and motifs.

Etched metal allows thicknesses that injection-molded plastic cannot reach. The edges are therefore sharp and the detail looks believable in scale, which suits above all panels, vents, grilles and small technical additions. Because the range is universal, the parts are not assigned to one model. You choose them by shape and size and place them according to your own intention, quite happily in combination with parts from other numbers of the range.

Use

• Keep the fret flat, as bent metal will never be perfectly straight again.
• Separate a part with a sharp scalpel against a hard surface, not by twisting.
• Level the remains of the bridges with a fine file or a sanding block.
• Make bends over an etching bender or a straight edge, in one calm movement.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; on larger parts with two-part epoxy.
• Before painting, degrease the metal and cover it with a base coat suitable for metal.

For modelers of sci-fi equipment and robots who want to add their own details, and for everyone who likes the freedom of universal etchings. The work is fine and assumes a sharp tool, tweezers, good light and a steady hand.

The package contains only the photo-etched parts. Glue, paints and tools are not part of it. Photo-etched parts have sharp edges and are small, so work carefully and out of reach of children.
