This piece belongs to the higher class of tools, in which the question is no longer whether the instrument will last but how precisely it can be guided. The trigger works in two axes: pressing it opens the air, pulling it back meters out the paint. The user thus keeps the amount of material under control throughout the stroke and can change the trace while moving.
The body has a chrome-plated surface with a triple layer of finish, which makes cleaning easier, because dried residues come away from a smooth surface more readily than from a matte one. The sealing elements are made of a material resistant to solvents, so the instrument will stand not only water-thinnable acrylics but synthetic varnishes and cleaners based on them as well.
Two top-mounted cups with a volume of five milliliters are included, both with a lid. A lid is not an extra detail but a practical thing: it prevents spilling when the airbrush is tilted and slows the drying of the material when the work is interrupted for a while. A pair of cups moreover makes it possible to prepare two shades at once and simply exchange them.
After each color, flush the cup and the channel with thinner, wipe the needle with a soft cloth and never push it back into its seat by force. Now and then it pays to dismantle the whole front section and clean it in a bath. Spare needles, nozzles, air caps and sets of seals are available separately for this type, so the instrument can be renewed after years of use and there is no need to buy a whole new one. Storing it with no paint residue in the channel prolongs the life of the seat more than any other measure.
