An injection-molded plastic kit of the McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II carrier fighter in the caricatured egg or deformed style of the Compact Series from Freedom Model Kits. The model has no fixed scale; the proportions are cutely shortened but the characteristic features of the Phantom remain. The package carries the popular scheme of the VF-84 Jolly Rogers squadron with its skull and crossbones motif.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was an American two-seat, twin-engine supersonic fighter and bomber, one of the icons of the Cold War. The F-4J version was the carrier variant of the US Navy with capable avionics and radar; the VF-84 Jolly Rogers squadron is among the best known thanks to its striking skull marking.
Cut the parts off and join them with liquid cement for plastic, then fill and sand the joints. The caricatured shape simplifies the build; use a base and lay the colors on according to the scheme. The prominent national insignia and the squadron marking are completed with the enclosed decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
