Hasegawa F/A-18 Hornet, Eggplane is a charming caricature egg model of the fighter with an easy snap-fit build without glue, and without a faithful scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic model from the popular Eggplane series of the Japanese company Hasegawa. It is not a model in a faithful scale but a deliberately deformed, charming egg caricature of the American F/A-18 Hornet carrier fighter with a short, bulbous fuselage and a big head. The model is conceived as snap-fit: the parts fit together without glue, so it suits beginners and younger modelers too. The box usually holds decals for American naval schemes.
The McDonnell Douglas (today Boeing) F/A-18 Hornet is an American multi-role carrier-based fighter and attack aircraft. It serves with the navy and the Marine Corps, handles air combat as well as attacks on ground targets, and also became famous as the machine of the Blue Angels display team. The egg version exaggerates and simplifies its typical features, the pair of vertical tails and the massive wing leading edge extensions, into a charming shape.
The parts can be assembled without glue; anyone who does not mind losing the ability to take it apart can strengthen the joints with a drop of cement for plastic. For the best look, spray the parts separately first and complete them with the enclosed decals. Paints and glue are not needed for assembly, but they heighten the effect.
The model is supplied unassembled. Paints and glue are not needed for assembly and are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
