A replacement ejection seat for a model of the F/A-18E in 1:48. It replaces the seat from the kit, which is usually worked out only in rough shapes.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F/A-18E is the single-seat form of the American carrier-borne multirole combat aircraft of the Super Hornet family; the two-seat version carries the designation F. The seat is the most conspicuous thing in its cockpit: with the canopy slid back there is nothing else to catch the eye, and at a show a viewer bends over it first.
It is a replacement ejection seat in 1:48. The part from the kit usually has the cushions, the straps and the handles only suggested, whereas a separately supplied seat is worked out in depth and, once painted, looks like an assembled unit rather than a single piece. How many parts the set contains and whether seat belts are included is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the rest away, so that the seat sits level on the floor of the cockpit. The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary cement for plastic models has no effect on them; use cyanoacrylate. Before painting, wash and degrease them and cover them with a base coat. Fit the seat before you close the fuselage, as you will not get it into a finished cockpit. Sharp transitions between the color of the frame and that of the cushions come out better with a brush than by spraying.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
