British carrier and ground machines of the war over the Falklands in 1982 in eight tones, from the fuselages of vertical take-off aircraft to the helicopters of the landing units.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second part of the Falklands range aims at the machines that flew over the islands from decks and from improvised strips. Its foundation is the dark gray BS Extra Dark Sea Grey to the British standard BS381C:640, the overall shade of the vertical take-off Sea Harrier FRS.1 of No. 800 Squadron from the ship Hermes and No. 801 Squadron from the ship Invincible.
The lineup also holds BS Medium Sea Grey to BS381C:637 for the upper surfaces of the machines of No. 809 Squadron and the lighter Camouflage Barley Grey to BS381C:626, which the same aircraft carried on the underside of the wing and on the tailplanes. To the same period belongs BS Dark Sea Grey to BS381C:638, which covered the lower surfaces of the Avro Vulcan B.2 bombers and the upper part of the camouflage of the Harrier GR.3.
The conflict lasted only ten weeks, but the equipment used ranged from subsonic bombers to light reconnaissance helicopters. The lineup therefore covers the whole carrier group as well as the flight supporting the ground units.
It is worth noticing how closely the shades are interwoven. The same dark gray covers the whole fuselage of a vertical take-off aircraft and at the same time only the upper part of the camouflage of another machine, so by the choice of the surface you apply it to you decide which squadron the model belongs to. White is not in the lineup, because British machines of the South Atlantic did not use it on camouflaged surfaces at that time.
