Eight shades of the Blue Line range for British aircraft of the 1982 Falklands fighting. Water-thinnable acrylics in bottles, ready for brush application.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second volume of the Falklands palette covers the aircraft and helicopters that operated from ship decks and from improvised strips ashore in 1982. It holds the gray of the carrier-borne Sea Harrier FRS.1 of No. 800 Squadron from HMS Hermes and of No. 801 Squadron from HMS Invincible, the camouflage of the land-based Harrier GR.3 and the upper surfaces of the Avro Vulcan B.2 bombers, whose raids on Port Stanley were among the longest combat missions of their day.
Seven of the eight tones refer to a specific entry in the British BS381C standard, so the palette is useful beyond the Falklands theme as well. The Vulcan, the Chinook and the Sea King flew in these colors for many years, so the set suits British models from the whole of the 1980s.
Blue Line is a water-based acrylic range formulated specifically for the brush: it is thinned with water or with the thinner of the same range, never with a lacquer thinner. Shake the bottle thoroughly before work, as the dark grays settle faster than the lighter tones.
