This is a plastic kit of the ship Red Force from the Japanese brand Bandai, from the Grand Ship Collection, a collector range that renders the vessels of the One Piece world. The Film Red designation in the name refers to the feature film of the same title. The parts are injection-molded from pre-colored plastic and snap together, so the model has its basic colors finished as it is assembled.
The Red Force is the ship of Captain Shanks, one of the key figures of the One Piece series. Fans know it from the anime and from the film version this one is named after. The shaping follows the animated subject, so it is not a technical replica of a historical sailing ship but an object for a display case in the spirit of the series.
Separate the parts with modeling nippers a little away from the part and then finish the rest of the gate with a knife or a fine file, so that no white burr is left on the edge. The build requires neither glue nor paints and even a beginner can manage it. Anyone who wants to go further can respray the subassemblies with acrylic or a varnish suited to plastic, pick out the engraving with a panel line and unify the whole with a matte or semi-gloss varnish. With ships it pays to spend time on the hull and the rigging, because it is they that carry the overall impression.
The model is assembled by snapping pre-colored parts together. Glue and paints are not needed for the build, and painting is purely optional.
