Power-Knete from the FIX-kit range by Revell is a two-part filler in the form of a kneadable compound. It consists of two components that are joined and kneaded together before use; once mixed, the compound starts to set and can be shaped with your fingers or with a tool during the working time. Unlike an ordinary filler from a tube it does not shrink, so it can be applied in a thick layer in one go. It is not a paint and not a glue, but a filler and a modeling compound.
Take an equal part of each of the two components and knead them until the compound is uniform with no streaks of color. Unmixed compound will not cure properly. Dampen your fingers and your tools with water while shaping, as the compound then does not stick and the surface stays smooth; a finished shape often does not need sanding at all. Remove the surplus before it cures and save yourself the work. Once cured, the compound can be sanded, drilled, cut and painted over with ordinary modeling paints. Put any unused component back in its packaging and close it firmly so that it does not dry out.
It suits anyone who builds plastic models, dioramas or figures and needs to add material where a liquid filler is not enough. Home improvers will appreciate it too for small repairs to plastics and other materials. The weight of the package, the working time and the curing time are given on the packaging of the product.
Work in a well-ventilated room and avoid long contact between the uncured compound and your skin; we recommend gloves. Protect your airways when sanding the cured filler. Keep out of the reach of children.
