Flat nose pliers for modeling work. The straight jaws without a point suit bending photo-etched parts, straightening wire and holding small parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
Flat nose pliers are part of the basic equipment of a modeling bench. The jaws are straight and ground flat, so they spread the pressure along the whole length of contact and do not leave a point mark the way pointed pliers do. They are used to bend photo-etched parts along a score line, to straighten wire or a thin strip, to pinch the ends of tubes and to hold a part that is too small to be held in your fingers.
Place the photo-etched part between the jaws so that the bend line lies exactly on the edge of the jaws, and bend it with finger pressure or with a second pair of pliers; the bend will then come out sharp and in one plane. Straighten wire with short moves in small sections, not with one long squeeze. Meter the force sensitively; both plastic and thin sheet are easy to dent.
Pliers are not for cutting or sawing; separating parts belongs to nippers or a sharp blade. Keep the jaws clean and dry, as glue residue on them will leave a mark in the next part. Do not store the tool loose among the rest of your tools, so that the edges of the jaws do not get knocked about.
Other tools, photo-etched parts and consumables are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
