Flexible tin wire with a diameter of 0.8 mm from Green Stuff World. A heavier diameter for tow ropes, pipework and load-bearing structures.
Responsibility details are not available.
A soft metal wire on a spool with a diameter of 0.8 mm. It stays in the position you bend it into, so it suits everywhere a detail has to follow a particular, carefully chosen course. The heavier diameter also carries its own shape over a longer run and needs fewer points of attachment.
It is used for tow ropes, for pipework, for heavier bundles of cables, for towing eyes, for grab handles and for load-bearing reinforcement inside sculpted parts. In dioramas it serves as the frame of structures, as fence posts or as the armature of trees onto which putty and foliage are then applied.
Cut with nippers and use round-nose pliers when bending into regular curves. Degrease the wire before painting and apply a primer, or the finish will rub off the smooth metal. On a tow rope, let the sag be smooth and start from the weight the rope would really have. Flatten the ends with pliers to suggest an attachment eye or an end fitting. If the rope runs over a roller or a hook, bend the wire directly on the model so that it matches the real course, and only then seat it permanently.
This is a material, not a finished part. Degreasing and a primer are recommended before painting.
