Fresh Algae is a loose Modellers World pigment in a shade of fresh green algae. It is used on the damp places of models where green growth takes hold in reality: on quays, ship hulls and the structures of a diorama.

This richly green pigment imitates the fresh growth of algae that takes hold where it is permanently damp. Against the dark shades of mold it is markedly livelier, so it suits above all the places in direct contact with water. Like every pigment it is a loose powder with no binder, which is fixed once applied.
Green growth is almost always uneven: keep to a narrow band around the water surface and let it tell against the surrounding dirt. Apply it dry with a soft brush, or moisten the powder and spread it as a paste into the recesses. A combination with a darker green or brown pigment will give it depth. Fix it only once you have the result you want, because fixing darkens and mutes the shade a little.
Do not inhale the powder, work in a ventilated space and close the container after use. Keep out of the reach of children.
