Gaming Measuring Tool - Red 8 inches

Gaming Measuring Tool - Red 8 inches

A gaming measuring tool from the Spanish brand Green Stuff World in a red finish. It helps measure the movement of a figure and the reach of an ability in inches, that is in the unit most tabletop battle games use. The figure of eight inches marks the gaming range the aid covers; it is not the size of the product or the scale of a model. Red is easy to read on a playing surface and at the same time easy to tell apart from an opponent's tool in a different color.

What the aid is good for

• Measuring the movement of a figure or a unit within a turn
• Checking the reach of a shot and of other abilities
• Clearing up a tight distance between players quickly
• Telling your own tool apart from an opponent's by color
• Measuring the gap when bringing on reinforcements or escaping from combat

What to keep in mind when playing

An eight-inch range covers the short and medium distances that come up every turn. Longer reaches are measured in stages or with a longer version of the aid. It makes sense to have a piece on both sides of the table so that the game is not held up by passing a single tool around. Individual games differ in where a distance is measured from and whether measuring is allowed at any time, so the last word belongs to the rules of your game. The tool is a universal aid, not part of one gaming system.

Who it is for

• Players of battle games with figures, where counting is in inches
• Players of board games with movement across an open area
• Pairs of players who each want their own color of tool
• Gaming clubs where several sessions follow each other at one table
