GUNDAM DECAL 124 MS GUNDAM BD SERIES MULTIUSE 1

Gundam Decal 124 — MS Gundam BD Series Multiuse 1

A numbered decal sheet that Bandai issues as an accessory to its mecha kits. It is an accessory, not a model. The Multiuse designation means that the sheet holds general-purpose markings, numbers and technical captions usable on more than one machine, not the markings of a single particular machine. Thematically the sheet belongs to the range that the name denotes with the abbreviation BD.

What the decals are for

On mecha models decals are the quickest route from smooth colored plastic to a model that looks like a machine. Small captions and markings create contrast and suggest the size of the subject. A general-purpose sheet is also practical in that you take only what you need from it and the rest stays for another build.

How to apply the decals

• First mark out on the model where the markings will go, so that the placing is balanced.
• Follow the instructions in the package; the method of transfer on decal sheets differs according to the type.
• With dry transfer decals, lay the motif on, hold it and go over it evenly with a blunt point.
• With water-slide decals, keep the surface beneath glossy and adjust the position while the motif is still damp.
• Fix the finished markings with a thin coat of varnish, as otherwise even the rub of a finger can damage them.

Who the sheet is for

• For builders of mecha models whose finished build lacks technical captions.
• For modelers who collect sheets from the numbered range and build up a stock of markings.
• For those who prefer a general-purpose sheet to a set for a single model.

This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
