A publication devoted to the British Hawker Hurricane fighter in its Mk.I version.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter, and the Mk.I is its first production form. In design it stood on the border between two epochs: it already had retractable landing gear, an enclosed cockpit and the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine, but the fuselage was built on a lattice frame and the rear section remained covered with fabric. The armament of the Mk.I was eight 7.7 mm machine guns in the wings. In the Battle of Britain in 1940, Hurricanes made up a larger share of the fighter squadrons than Spitfires and carried the main weight of the defensive fighting.
This is a publication on one type of aircraft, not a kit and not modeling material. Monographs of this kind tend to be welcome reference for modelers: alongside the history they usually bring photographs, a description of the differences between the individual production batches and reference for the color schemes, which is exactly what decides how convincing the result of a build looks.
The publication will be appreciated by anyone interested in British aviation of the Second World War and by modelers who build the Hurricane and want reference for the details, the markings and the painting close at hand. It also serves as a gift for collectors of aviation literature.
This is a publication. A model, a kit, decals and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
