Models of ships from film universes have one peculiarity: they must not look new. The studio models were deliberately dirtied, scratched and marked by use, so that the viewer would believe the machine had been through something. This box builds on exactly that approach and brings together twenty items that lead the builder from the base coat through the paint to the final weathering, without having to look for the individual products one by one.
The process is in effect set out by the order of the items. First the one-coat base, then the covering shades, after them gloss varnish as a surface for the washes, then the panel lines and the streaks, and finally evening everything out with matte varnish. Anyone doing this kind of weathering for the first time will appreciate not having to decide which product goes with which.
The box does not contain a kit or decals. Bear in mind that on large smooth areas it is worth trying the shade and the method first on an offcut of sprue, because streaking grime is hard to take back on a light color.
