A cool greenish flesh tone from the IONIC range, meant for undead and infected figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
A bluish gray-green with a minimum of red in it matches what happens to skin once the blood has gone out of it. The tone is aimed at the undead, the drowned, the infected and other figures on which it should be clear at first glance that the body under the paint does not work. On its own it comes over flat; it gains depth only in combination with violet or brown toning drawn into the recesses.
The shade comes from the IONIC collection, which the maker AMMO of Mig Jimenez built around the painting of figures and of tabletop games. The binder is a water-based acrylic and the pigment finely ground, so a coat does not clog the engraved detail of a face or the fingers of a hand.
The quickest way leads through full coverage with the base tone, then a wash into the folds and a dry brush over the raised parts, that is the cheekbones, the knuckles and the ribs. Anyone who wants to go further adds a drop of a bone shade into the last highlights and, into wounds and grazes, a dark red, so that the contrast between dead skin and fresh injury stands out. The dried surface will take matte varnish.
Outside figures it suits greenish reflections in glass, mold in the corners of ruined buildings and overgrown stones at the edge of water. In a diorama it ties a figure to its surroundings as soon as the same tone appears off the body as well. It mixes willingly with grays and with ocher shades, with which it can be shifted toward a muddy or, on the contrary, a paler treatment according to the mood of the scene.
