Playmarker marker in a leather shade

A marker from the Playmarker line in a brown shade named after leather. The tip applies the paint directly, so there is no brush, no palette and no mixing. It shows most on narrow elements such as straps and webbing: the tip is guided like a pencil and the paint does not run into the surrounding surface as easily as it does from a brush.

Where a leather shade serves

Leather parts are almost everywhere on figures and on equipment. The shade suits belts and webbing, holsters, pouches and packs, footwear and gloves, saddles and harnesses and the soft parts of gear. On vehicles it works on seat upholstery, on figures on helmet straps and small items of kit. Because it is a muted tone, it sits well next to earthy and khaki surfaces.

Painting tips

• Test the shade first on a scrap of plastic or in a hidden place on the model.
• The surface should be clean, dry and degreased, otherwise the stroke breaks up.
• Guide narrow elements in one stroke along their length, as going back and forth smears the stroke.
• Apply thin coats and let them dry, as a second pass deepens the shade.
• Leave the folds and gaps darker, which gives the surface depth.
• Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging for starting the marker, thinning and cleaning.

The marker in the stated shade is supplied. The model, figures, other shades and clear coats are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Work in a well-ventilated room and keep the marker out of the reach of children.
