Two flexible sheets in 3200 grit, each ten by seven and a half centimeters. They take water and go on working after washing.

Three thousand two hundred is the grit a modeler reaches for at the moment when the paint is on the model and the surface is not perfect. Dust that has settled into a fresh gloss coat, a slight orange peel after spraying from too far away, an imperceptible step at the edge of a dried drop: all of this can be leveled with this fineness without working your way down to the base. This is work in fractions of a millimeter, not shaping.
The sheet is flexible, so it wraps around a curved surface or an edge without breaking. It is used dry as well as with a drop of water. The wet route has the advantage that the slurry floats away and does not clog the abrasive, and the surface comes out noticeably smoother. Press with the weight of your fingers only. Under heavier pressure the flexible backing bends and the fine grit bites deeper into the soft finish than was intended. After work, rinse the sheet and let it dry, and it will serve again.
The most logical place is between coats of gloss varnish before the decals and then again before the final matte coat. The second common use is on clear parts: once the mold parting line has been removed with a coarser grade, you level the surface with this and only then go on to the finest grades and polishing compound. The set contains two sheets, which is amply enough for one model, and because they can be washed they last considerably longer than paper. Set one piece aside exclusively for clear parts and never use it on paint again, because a grain of dried varnish caught in it can scratch a glassy surface in a single stroke.
