Dark green preserved lichen in a small bag with a content of 1.41 dm³. It suits shady parts and the ground under the crowns of conifers.
Responsibility details are not available.
The darkest of the green shades commonly offered does something in a scene that lighter tones cannot: it creates shadow. Vegetation that grows under crowns or on the northern side of a slope is always richer than growth in an open space, and if this difference is missing on a diorama, the whole area comes across as flat. The dark green is therefore usually not used on its own but as the lower layer under a lighter material.
The small package takes 1.41 dm³, which in the original American measure is 86.6 cubic inches. The material is loose, not pressed, and the individual pieces have an irregular shape as well as size. The difference between the small and the large bag of the same line is exactly twofold, so the consumption can be estimated in advance by the area you intend to overgrow.
Thanks to the preserving the clumps stay pliable, they can be shaped by hand and they do not break. They can be fixed with anything that holds a porous material, from thinned PVA glue to contact glues. If you want to break up the uniformity of the color, spread finer stone in a different tone over the finished surface; the transition then looks more believable than a single continuous layer.
