Long Zun Liu Bei Unicorn Gundam is a plastic snap-fit kit from Bandai, the Unicorn Gundam design treated in the motif of the warlord Liu Bei.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese company Bandai, from the Gundam world. The parts are nipped off the sprues and snapped together, so glue is not needed. The sprues tend to be molded in several colors of plastic. The model belongs to a line that carries the characters of classic East Asian stories over to well-known robotic designs.
Liu Bei is one of the central figures of the Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, a historicized account of the collapse of the Han empire. The epithet Long Zun refers to the dragon, the traditional symbol of ruling power. Bandai joined that motif with the Unicorn Gundam design, which modelers know from the Gundam range and recognize by the horn on its head. The subject here is therefore not real equipment but a fictional stylized character, and what is judged is the silhouette, the coloring and the articulation, not technical fidelity.
Cut a little from the part and finish the remainder of the gate with a knife or a fine sanding sponge; with deeply colored plastic white marks would otherwise be left on the edges. The kit can be built straight out of the box. Anyone wanting to lift the model will reach for a primer, for touching in the small areas with a brush and for a matte or satin varnish to even the sheen out. Gold and pearl areas look better over a smooth undercoat, so spray them last and do not mask over them. Pick the engraved lines out with a capillary paneliner and wipe the excess away. Apply the stickers onto dry varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
