A Tamiya LP-line modeling paint in the olive green shade Olive Drab, designation LP-28. Thinner and mixing ratio follow the manufacturer's instructions for this line.
Responsibility details are not available.
Olive Drab is a muted olive green with a brownish cast, the color most modelers associate with American equipment and American Second World War aircraft. The shade was used as an overall coat on vehicles and as the upper camouflage color on aircraft airframes. In reality the tone varied by production batch, paint age and degree of sun fading, so it does not look out of place on a model if you vary it slightly.
Choose the thinner and mixing ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions for the LP line. Stir the paint thoroughly before use, since muted shades carry a significant amount of settling pigment. Apply it in several thin coats and let the surface dry between them; one heavy coat will fill in fine relief, rivets and panel lines. Close the bottle carefully after use and wipe its rim, or the cap will stick.
Wash and degrease the model before painting and let it dry. On larger vehicle areas it pays to lighten the shade with a drop of a light color and run it over the center of panels, leaving the darker tone around seams and areas that light does not reach. A darker base in the shadows works well under olive drab, since the paint itself covers reliably on its own. Compare the shade in daylight; under a light bulb, green tones shift toward brown.
Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and a model are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
