Magenta completes cyan and yellow into the trio from which the rest of the palette arises. In modeling practice it is most valuable for what you can do with it to reds and violets. A drop of magenta shifts red markings from a brick shade into a saturated crimson, and in combination with blue it creates violet tones of the kind that are hard to come by in ready-made sets. On its own it serves for striking fabrics, for flowers in a scene and for the finishes of modern civilian equipment. That is exactly why magenta appears in basic artists' sets, even though a paint specification for military equipment practically never calls for it. The tube holds 20 ml of paint, which the name of the line designates as acrylic.
It is intended mainly for those who mix. Magenta appears in ready-made modeling sets only rarely, so a palette built on the primary colors does not work without it. Anyone who uses exclusively the shades matching the prescribed finishes of equipment will reach for it only occasionally, and rather for fine-tuning.
The shade is very strong, add it to a mixture in doses on the tip of a toothpick. Keep the tube closed, stored upright and out of the reach of children.
