The plastic kit MAILeS Jogan Kai from the Japanese brand Bandai. MAILeS is the designation of a class of piloted combat machines from the world of Kyoukai Senki, to which a whole group of models from the same world belongs. The suffix Kai in Japanese denotes a modified version of the base type. The parts are injection-molded from plastic colored right through and snap together, so the build requires no glue.
MAILeS machines are conceived as mass-production military equipment, which their appearance matches: divided armor panels, exposed joints and understated colors. A version with the suffix Kai is usually derived from the base machine in the subject material. Check the actual differences in equipment compared with the base form on the box.
Separate the parts with nippers a little away from the part and level the rest of the gate with a knife or a fine file, so that no light mark is left on the colored plastic. Assembly is quick and requires no previous experience. Anyone who wants to take the result further can break the model down into subassemblies, degrease them, apply a base suited to plastic and spray them separately. Machines with a military treatment suit panel lines, light edge chipping with a dry brush and a final matte varnish.
The model is assembled by snapping pre-colored parts together. Glue and paints are not needed for the build, and painting is optional.
