Round bases 50 mm in diameter

For a gaming figure a base is more than just something to stand on. It determines how much room the figure takes up on the table, and in most tabletop games the diameter of the base is part of the rules: distances and reach are measured from it, as is how many models fit into a formation. Fifty millimeters is one of the larger sizes and is used for bulkier figures, cavalry, monsters and machines. The material is MDF fiberboard, which is heavier than plastic, so a figure stands better on the table and does not tip over when touched.

Use

• Attach the figure with glue or with a pin drilled into the board; choose a pin for heavier models.
• Drill the hole for the pin slowly, as MDF tears if drilled fast.
• Prime the surface before painting, as the board is absorbent and would draw the paint in.
• Paint the edge of the base the same way for a whole army, which unifies the look on the table.
• Do not wash the bases with water, as MDF absorbs it and swells.
• Fit a felt pad to the underside to protect the surface of a table or a shelf.

Who they are for

The bases suit players of tabletop and wargames who assemble or convert their own figures, and figure painters who want a uniform base for a whole collection. They also come into their own as the foundation for small dioramas. A uniform base moreover ties a whole collection together visually, even when the figures come from different sources.

Store in a dry place and out of the reach of children. Figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
