Square MDF bases with a thirty millimeter edge, a package of five hundred pieces, intended to go under figures for tabletop games and wargames.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains five hundred square MDF bases, that is of pressed medium-density fiberboard. The edge of the square measures thirty millimeters. The board has a smooth surface, holds flat and is light, so a finished figure on the base does not become top-heavy and at the same time stands firmly. A quantity like this is intended rather for a club, a gaming group or for someone who is building a whole army of figures at once.
A base unifies a figure with the others in the game, protects it while it is moved around the table and gives it an area on which a piece of terrain can be built up. A uniform size matters in tabletop games, because the distance between figures and how many of them can be placed side by side are derived from it. A square with a thirty millimeter edge is among the sizes commonly worked with for figures.
MDF soaks up paint and water, so first apply a primer to it and let it dry properly; without one the base will drink up several coats and the surface will stay fuzzy. Pass fine abrasive paper lightly over the edges left by cutting. Build terrain onto the base only after priming: modeling paste, fine sand or static grass hold on a primer much better than on bare board. Never leave the bases lying in water; the board would swell and warp.
For players and builders who need to unify a whole collection of figures, and for clubs where figures are based in larger batches. The figures, the paints and terrain material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
