Playmarker marker pen, medium blue

A marker pen from the Playmarker line in a medium blue shade, that is, in a tone between light and dark blue. The tip applies the paint directly, so there is no brush, palette or mixing. This pays off most on tiny areas and narrow elements, where preparing the paint would take longer than the painting itself.

What the color is for

Medium blue is the most versatile of the blue tones. It comes into its own on the clothing and fabrics of figures, on colored stripes and markings, on items of equipment, on machine parts and on elements meant to create a calm contrast on a monotonous surface. It works well paired with a darker blue: the darker tone lays down the area, and the medium blue then picks out the raised edges and folds.

Application tips

• Try the shade first on an offcut of plastic or on a hidden spot of the model.
• Wash and degrease the surface before painting; on a greasy surface the stroke breaks up.
• Apply thin coats and let them dry; a second pass will deepen the shade.
• When picking out edges, guide the tip lightly and only over the raised spots.
• Wipe the tip occasionally so that it does not pick up paint from the spots already painted.
• Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging for priming the pen, thinning and cleaning.
