Medium Green 42 – Air is an AK interactive acrylic paint from the Air Series: the darker green used on the mottled additions to American camouflage.
Responsibility details are not available.
A water-thinnable acrylic from the Air Series aviation range. The paint is thinned for spraying, which predestines it for fine work: for misting, for soft transitions and equally for painting irregular patches by hand.
Medium Green 42 is a deeper green shifted toward dark, which the American air forces used during the Second World War as a supplementary color to the standard olive. It was applied in irregular patches on the leading and trailing edges of wings and tail surfaces to break up the outline of the machine. On a model it is therefore usually not an overall coat but a partial element over the base color.
Mottled camouflage is exactly the area where hand painting beats the airbrush. Use a flat brush with short bristles, pick up little paint and lay it down in short dabs rather than strokes. Leave the edge of the patch ragged, not sharp. If you need a softer transition still, go over the edge with a damp clean brush before the paint sets.
For builders of American aircraft models of the Second World War period and for modelers who like working mottled schemes by hand.
A water-thinnable acrylic. Keep out of the reach of children, ventilate during longer sessions and do not return leftover paint from the palette to the bottle.
