Six water-thinnable acrylic paints for the modern and the older camouflage schemes of the Brazilian Air Force, from the New Tactical Standard to the two-tone gray of the Tucano aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is aimed at the camouflage schemes the Brazilian Air Force has worn from the 1990s to this day. The pair of European I Green with the number FS34092 and Mod Eagle Grey with the number FS36176 makes up the so-called New Tactical Standard, that is the finish you will see today on practically the whole combat fleet including the Saab Gripen NG machines on order.
Atlantic Grey (FS36187) together with Pearl Grey (FS36493) made up, until 2005, the two-tone gray camouflage of the turboprop EMB T-27 Tucano trainers and of the AMX International A-1A/B light attack aircraft. Sky Grey (FS36463) matches the shade in which F-5 fighters of the unit nicknamed Pampa were resprayed in Brazil itself in the 1990s. The last, Air Defence Grey (FS16473), covers large machines of the C-97, R-99, KC-137 and KC-767 types and is at the same time the factory finish of the F-5s as delivered.
The contents are water-thinnable acrylic of the Orange Line range, mixed straight to spraying consistency for an airbrush. It is recommended to apply it in thin coats onto a degreased and dry base; it can be thinned with the maker's own acrylic thinner. The resulting surface is matte, so before applying decals it pays to go over it with clear gloss varnish. The shades can be mixed with one another, so intermediate tones can be made up for the fading of the upper surfaces, which is very pronounced on machines operated in a tropical climate.
